As a child I enjoyed many freedoms that are now considered hazardous to one’s health.A simple thing like drinking tap water is now a dangerous thing. To be clear, I am not talking about parts of the world that are known for their poor sanitary conditions.
In the last decade or so we have become a global community. Social media is where information is shared on a scale like never before. Issues that did not get the proper attention are now surfacing and forcing us to take action in the form of more research and coherent regulation and supervision.
Clean water is a rare commodity that the modern world takes for granted. The quality of our water has become questionable in the past few years as many countries still add Fluoride to their water supply. After an extensive research was conducted on this matter, fluoride in high doses turned out to be harmful rather than beneficial to our health, in particular for infants that have yet begun to grow teeth. The solution many adopted was to consume only bottled mineral water that contain no fluoride.
We also figured out a way to avoid pesticide applications that are constantly being used in agriculture to keep pests away from our crops. Those chemicals can infiltrate our foods and cause harm to our body in various ways and forms (Cancer is one of many concerns). The solution to this concern evolved in the form of organic foods. But we are neglecting the biggest concern of all – the source of the waters being used in agriculture to begin with.
Irrigation solutions are becoming more and more sophisticated as technology evolves but the quality of the water being used has degraded gradually over the years since we consume more and therefore pollute more. Drainage water, also known as filtered Sewage water are being used for all our crops. In order to kill all the Bacteria, Viruses and Cysts in such contaminated waters, chemical compounds such as Chlorine Dioxide are applied among others for purification purposes.
And so, it all boils down to the fact that tap water are becoming non drinkable (unless you boil them long enough) while drainage waters should not be used for agriculture if we aspire to live longer and healthier lives.
At this point you might be asking why am I so focused on Water… Well, first of, it is a unique commodity (only 3% of the world’s waters are drinkable water) that is vital to our existence. Second, we now know more and can prepare accordingly to the challenges of the 21st century (Global Warming, Polluted air & waters derived from burning Fossil Fuels such as Coal that lead to severe Illnesses, Overpopulation and the need to feed everyone etc.)
To combat these issues we need to broaden our perspective and look for alternative, clean and natural solutions. CBD is one of those solutions and a step in the right direction. We have yet to discover the full potential of CBD due to lack of vision among self-involved decision makers, prejudice and plain stupidity. The medical discoveries we have achieved in the past decade regarding CBD already help us tackle those issues and ease the pain and sufferings of many in the process.
