Q:
What is Cannabidiol (CBD)?

A: Cannabidiol (or in short CBD) is the primary Cannabinoid in the manufactured Hemp plant. Only recently there has been an increase of interest in the therapeutic potential of CBD extract since it has no psychotropic effects once or ever, as opposed to THC. CBD is not psychoactive (you cannot get “high” from it) and even in high doses it does not cause any notable side-effects.

Q: What are Cannabinoids?

A: In the Hemp plant, there are nearly 1250 identified unique chemical compounds. A large percentage of them are terpenoids. Terpenoids are the compounds that help produce the distinct flavors and aromas in flowers, fruits and herbs. Each has their own special properties. Cannabinoids are a sub-class of terpenoids.

Q: What is CBD oil?

A: CBD hemp oil is the end result in the process of extracting  the biomass from manufactured hemp plant. CBD oil is actually Cannabis oil that contains significant amounts of Cannabidiol (CBD). In that process, Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is removed in a way that preserves the Cannabinoids, Terpenes, Flavonoids  (various group of chemicals responsible for the colors of the plant) and other essential nutrients. It contains only trace amounts (below 0.2%) of THC.

Q: What is THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol)?

A: THC is a chemical found in the Cannabis Plant. It is the primary psychoactive component that is responsible for most of marijuana’s psychological effects. It acts similar to the Cannabinoid chemicals made naturally by our body in the Endocannabinoid System. Certain areas of our brain consist a concentrated amount of Cannabinoid receptors that govern how we think, use our memory, experience pleasure, able to coordinate and perceive time. THC attaches to these receptors and activates them.

Q: What is the Endocannabinoid System (ECS)?

A: The Endocannabinoid System (yes, it is actually called after the plant that led to its discovery), is a complex cell-signaling system located in our brain and throughout our entire nervous systems and organs.

It exists and is active in our body even if we do not consume any Cannabis (!) and plays a major role in regulating a wide range of functions and processes that include: Sleep, Mood, Appetite & Digestion (Metabolism), Stress & Nerve functions, Learning & Memory (Coordination), Reproduction & Fertility, Motor Control, Time perception, Pleasure but also Chronic Pain and other Immune system functions.

The ECS in essence, contribute to homeostasis, which translates to the stability of your internal functions and overall environment.

Q: Do I get high from CBD oil drops?

A: CBD is non-psychoactive, which means you cannot get intoxicated by consuming it in any form, as well as any other raw natural product manufactured from hemp plants. CBD in fact, blocks the ‘High’ sensation associated with THC.

Q: Will I test positive if I use CBD oil drops?

A: The THC concentrations in hemp oil are nowhere near enough to have any effect on you nor result in a positive outcome when taking a drug (urine) test. Manufactured hemp plants contain only trace amounts of the THC that the Marijuana plant has and since only THC is the compound that is being targeted in drug tests, (50 Nanograms and above is considered intoxicated in the eyes of the law) you can be worry free when consuming CBD in the form of oil drops, or any other form for that matter.

Q: Are CBD oil drops legal?

A: CBD oil drops are widely legal in many states/countries and do not require a prescription to purchase them. However, it is recommended to check with the local authorities regardless, to make sure. It is available online and shipped worldwide.
